Laulmine on eestlaste puhul üks fantastiline fenomen. Iga muusikaga lähemalt seotud eestlane saab välismaalt vaadates vaid kiita Eesti koolisüsteemi, kus laulutunnid ikka veel au sees. Pea iga last on võimalik nooti lugema ja laulma õpetada. Eestis tegeletakse sellega tõsiselt, aga näiteks Saksamaal väga vähe või üldse mitte.
Laulupeod… See tunne, see kõla, see meeleolu – see on lihtsalt võimas! Kes seda kogenud pole, on elus millestki ilusast ilma jäänud. Olen vist küll vaid ühte eestlast kohanud, kes ütles, et eelistab laulukaare all laulmisele publiku hulgas olla.
Teadvustasin eestlaseks olemise enesele palju selgemalt siis, kui Saksamaale elama sattusin. Tahan, et mu laps ka edaspidi eesti keelt räägiks, tahan Eesti asjadega kursis olla ja tahan laulupeole! Maailm on nii väike, vahet pole, kus elada!
Oma tegemistega tahab Euroopa Eestlaste Koor tutvustada Eestit ja Eesti kultuuri ning kõike, mida on selle väikese rahva juures väärtuslikku.

Welcome to the website of the European Choir of Estonians!
These pages are about who we are and where we come from. Firstly, though, let me tell you about why how and why we got together.
Singing is in the blood of all Estonians. We should be proud of the Estonian school system where singing lessons are still compulsory. It is possible to teach almost any child to read music and to learn singing. This still happens in Estonia, but sadly, it is longer the case in Germany.
Estonian Song Festivals… The feeling, the sound and the atmosphere – it is simply fantastic! It is something you really have to experience for yourself in order to appreciate its significance. I have actually met only one Estonian who said that he preferred listening to the Song Festival rather than participating as a singer!
I have gained a much better understanding of what it means to be Estonian since moving to Germany. I want my child to continue speaking Estonian. I want to be up to date with what is going on in Estonia and I want to participate in the Song Festival! The world is small – it does not actually make much difference where we live!
It is through ourselves and our actions that we represent Estonia and what is important to us!
